Today's Embroidery

Drawing Inspiration from the Embroidery of Yesteryear

For many years I have heard that hand-embroidery stopped with the introduction of the sewing machine and people don't stitch any longer. Nothing could be farther from the truth, as there are enthusiastic needlewomen in the U.S., in Canada, Europe, South America, in Russia and China, in short across the globe.

Embroidery has such a rich history and today we needlewomen draw inspiration from that history but try to make our work reflect our lives today. It is the way that we bring it forward and live in our times.
